We've been "camping" in our new place these past few days...borrowed an air matress and made pillows out of rolled up clothes until our first small shipment came the next day. Now that we received 1 out of 3 shipments, we have our air mattress, pillows and blankets....only one damaged item discovered so far (our microwave)....and we look forward to tomorrow when we get our biggest shipment of all our household goods (sofa, bed, etc). Then finally we can really start settling in! Yippee. Nesting here I come!
The hard part is not having the convenience of internet like we did at the temporary lodge. So it's nice to have this moment at our sponsor's place to write this post and catch up on web stuff. We have the oh-so-speedy fios (fiber optics) on the way...which is a great advantage to living off base. Although it takes about 3 weeks for them to schedule the installation! Well, should be worth it. They say the internet will be so fast, you can download a 2 hr movie in 5 minutes...wow! I know a few friends of mine who would love to have that capability (yea, you know who you are).
So please stand by. Our email responses and posting frequency may slow down greatly. Meanwhile we will attempt to clean up the house/arrange all the boxes to make our place somewhat presentable or photo worthy..though I'm sure we will first post pics of it empty since likely that will make a better first impression.
